Our Story

        We are the Powers Family.  We have moved all over Nevada, Oregon, & California enjoying different country, meeting good people, home schooling, and raising kids in the ranching lifestyle.  Dogs have always been an appreciated part of our livelihood. We have been breeding working dogs for over 18 years now for friends, family, and ourselves. 

        As seasons changed in my life with four growing kids, homeschooling, and a bookkeeping job, l realized that I really didn't need a working dog.  I wasn't using the dogs for what they are bred and desire to do; it isn't fair to the dog. I have always had my own dog since I was ten and I truly enjoy them! 

        I started thinking about what dog would be a good companion dog, good in the house and around the family, by my side camping, fishing, hiking, and able to be around the livestock when I am out for a ride or able to go to work.  The Bordoodle fits the bill perfectly! After doing my research and learning about the poodle and how well it crosses on the border collie, I decided to purchase a moyen poodle male.  The whole family fell in love with Remington.  We really had no understanding of the poodle breed for all of their smarts, compassion, and diverse ability.  In my opinion, something really wonderful happens when the poodle is crossed on the border collie! So here we are, raising bordoodles to offer to others for their enjoyment!
